As new parents and lifelong lovers of nut butters, founders of Nuttery Buttery, Katie and Sarah started whizzing their own at home for their daughters, Violet and Ivy. Sarah and Katie heard about the benefits of introducing nut butters to babies early to avoid allergies, so they started to make their own at home, ensuring all natural ingredients were used with no added oils, salt or sugar.
Friends and family wanted jars for themselves too, and they soon began trading at Stroud Green and Victoria Park markets, before taking a break to focus on getting the flavours and recipes just right.
They have launched with four fantastic flavours: peanut, cashew, almond and hazelnut and cacao.
Peanut Butter: 100% roasted peanuts whizzed to create a lip-smackingly smooth nut butter. Scrummy on toast, in sandwiches or as a dip for your favourite fruit.
Almond Butter: 100% roasted almonds whizzed to create a lip-smackingly smooth nut butter. Drop a dollop into your smoothies or soups or simply spread on toast.
Cashew Butter: 100% roasted cashews whizzed to create a smooth and naturally sweet taste-bud tingling nut butter. Great on toast or in everything from biscuits to a stir fry.
Hazelnut & Cacao: A mouthwatering spread made from hazelnuts, cacao powder and sweetened with brown rice syrup. Try it on toast, in porridge or straight from the jar with a spoon.
Nuts, including peanuts, can be introduced to your baby from around the age of 6 months, as long as they are crushed, ground or a smooth nut butter. Check out NHS guidance on Food Allergies in babies and young children.
