Aller-C is our first port of call for summer health and for during the pollen season to help keep the sniffles, sneezes, runny eyes and tickly throats at bay. Aller-C contains quercetin and bromelain as well as vitamin C, which all contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Aller-C also contains bioflavonoids, which can synergistically potentiate the actions of vitamin C which may in turn reduce inflammation.
When your body begins to overreact such as in the case of exposure to food or environmental allergen then systemic inflammation may occur. This can harm your muscles‚ tissues‚ organs‚ nervous system and/or your joints in the longer term. Reducing exposure to known allergens and histamine rich foods, may not be enough to slow down your body’s inflammatory reactions‚ especially if it’s hypersensitive and that is why it is always prudent to have some Aller-C at the ready.
The core ingredients are quercetin, and bromelain, an enzyme derived from pineapple. Quercetin prevents immune cells from releasing histamine, which is the chemical that causes allergic reactions. Researchers think that quercetin may help reduce symptoms of allergies and hay fever, including runny nose, watery eyes, tickly throat, hive-type rashes, and swelling of the face and lips. We always have some to hand in our household just in case we are exposed to an unexpected allergen.
